Plug-in in Rhein-Main Gebiet mieten, auch privat, oder treffen zum vergleichen und Bier trinken :-)

    Laptop und smartphone bleiben normalerweise zu Hause bei Zimmer Temperaturen. Ein Auto steht draussen mit Temperaturen von -20 bis 50 Grad. Das mögen die Batterien gar nicht.


    2 Videos von Nickel vs Lithium Akkus, beide selbe Grosse aber die erste fährt nur 3 km und die zweite 10 mal soviel. Die erste sehr robust und die zweite mehr empfindlich. Sorry, von Toyota, von Hyundai findet man leider wenig info

    Nein, nicht ansatzweise. Die Energiedichte in Bezug auf Wh/kg ist bei Li-Polymer im Vergleich zu NiMh etwa 2-3x höher.

    Vergiss es. Es gibt unzählige mechanische und elektrische Abhängigkeiten die dieses Vorhaben komplett unrealistisch machen. Der IONIQ ist das einzige Auto wo bereits der Hersteller alle drei Varianten anbietet.


    - Hybrid als Verbrenner mit Elektromotor zur Effizienzsteigerung
    - Plug-In
    - Elektro


    Nur die letzten beiden würde ich als Elektroauto ansehen. Der Hybrid ist für mich primär ein Benziner.


    Bei den Youtube Videos ist der erste Akku gleich mal von einem 2010er (!) Prius. Den braucht man sicher mit keinem aktuellen Lithium-Akku mehr vergleichen.


    Zur Haltbarkeit von Lithium Polymer Akkus liegen natürlich keine vergleichbaren Erfahrungen zu NiMh vor. (Bezogen auf den KFZ-Einsatz.)
    Die gleiche Situation hatten wir vor 10 Jahren aber auch mit NiMh. Damals wurden die Prius auch verkauft, obwohl der gleiche Akkutyp in der elektrischen Zahnbürste oder im Akkuschrauber nach 2 Jahren hin war. Das eine Gerät hing immer am Ladegerät, das andere so gut wie nie.


    Kauf den Hybrid wenn du elektrisch nicht vernünftig laden kannst. Kauf den Plug-In wenn dir der Punkt rein elektrisches Fahren einen Aufpreis wert ist.
    Zumindest zum Teil kannst es ja in der Arbeit refinanzieren. Die wenigsten Plug-In werden sich im Vergleich zum Hybrid wirtschaftlich rechnen. Dennoch finden sie ihre Käuferschicht weil er einfach (mehr) Spaß macht.

    Regarding temperatures these cars are sold worldwide from Alaska to Africa and they should perform in a very wide range of temperatures from extrem low to extrem high. That is what I meant, Please do not take me wrong.


    Regarding specific capacity Wh/Kg there are many kinds of lithium and Nickel batteries and they have a wide spectrum of values. 2-3 is as wrong as 10 and also as wrong as the 100 liters or 100 Kg that I said my battery have. We can google for the graphics and discuss further but it is no worth. I was talking about orders of magnitude. And batteries, specially lithium, change a lot the capacity in addition of the type, with aging and with temperature.


    I build radio control models and I have been using Nickel and Lithium batteries for about 25 years. I have Nickel batteries that are 20 years old and they perform very well. Lithiom batteries are very sensitive, I use Lithium polymer that are different to the Li Ion that are used in some cars according to what I read, but also in the cars I am reading that there are various types to perform better or last longer. They have in common that they lose porformance with time and that they weight less than the Nickel ones. You can kill a lithium battery overcharging or overheating it, and Nickel are in general are not so sensitive. It is a fact that they have improved but for instance last week I went to try a Prius plug in 5 years old and it did not start, it was dead after a few days without being driven and the low temperatures, they had to plug it in and recharge both batteries. You can get stuck if it happens to you, it is clear that these cars are new and have some issues.


    I opened the thread to try to drive a plug in since the experience I am getting with my hybrid is that the batteries do not last very long and would like to try a car with lithium that is clearly different. I want to satisfy my curiosity, get some experience and also have some fun. The sentences about what I should buy are so wrong as the numbers I wrote if we want to misunderstand them.


    Anyway I opened the thread to rent a Plug-in, not to get into these discussion. My apologies if I used the wrong words or I said something wrong. I just try to have some fun in the forum :rolleyes: Sorry for the long and boring answer.
